Are you ready to apply to our Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing (Registered Nurse Prescriber)?
Congratulations on taking the next step towards further study! Applications to enrol into our Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing (Registered Nurse Prescriber) are now open for our 17 February 2025 start-date. If you're interested in studying later in 2025 or 2026, please sign up for enrolment updates.
When you apply to enrol into a programme with Tuihono UC | UC Online you're applying to Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha | University of Canterbury. This means you'll be part of the University of Canterbury student body, and are eligible for a wide range of support and digital services.
How does the process work?
- During the application process, we'll ask you a range of questions about yourself, including requesting the documentation listed below under 'get your documentation ready'. Please note: when asked to select "Study Options" please select "UC Online, part-time - 17 Feb 2025".
- After you submit your application, this will be assessed by our academic team to make sure you meet all entrance criteria (including academic and English language requirements). We may be in touch to ask you further questions about your experience, or to request additional supporting documentation. If your application is accepted, you will be sent an 'Offer of Place' to let you know your enrolment has been conditionally approved.
- At present, you can only add the qualification "PGDIPNURS" to your application, and not your courses. In October, we will get in touch with successful applicants who received an 'Offer of Place', asking them to add their courses to their application. If you are planning to use a StudyLink student loan to finance your studies, October is also when we will encourage you to apply for a Student Loan with StudyLink - not now.
- In October, after our team have processed the courses you have added, you will be sent an 'Enrolment Agreement' outlining your studies, fees and student agreement, which you need to sign and accept.
- Your enrolment is only complete when the fees outlined in the Enrolment Agreement are paid in full (view payment options), at which point you’ll become ‘Fully Enrolled’ and receive a ‘Welcome to Tuihono UC | UC Online’ email with details of your next steps to start learning.
Get your documentation ready
Before you start your application to enrol in the Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing (Registered Nurse Prescriber) you'll need to prepare these documents:

There are additional requirements depending on your visa status, or if you have legally changed your name - for more information view full verification requirements.
