Why learn with Tuihono UC | UC Online?

Learning online doesn’t mean learning alone. Our courses have been designed to enable a cohort community so you can learn and grow from each other's experience. We also have a facilitator for each course who is there to offer support as you work through your learning, in addition to our Enrolment Advice and Online Learning Support teams. 

Our programme learners also have the benefit of accessing UC's additional support services, as you work your way towards a University of Canterbury certificate, diploma or degree, your way. 

For many of our courses or programmes, you’ll study 100% online, 100% of the time. This means you can log on when it suits you each week to fit learning into your life, so long as you meet assessment deadlines. But we know that having a connection to other learners is key, and for specific subjects practical, in-person learning opportunities are essential.

That’s why the delivery for each of our courses is unique, specifically designed for different learning outcomes. Some include optional live weekly sessions, and others combine the best of online study with practical clinical placements so you can put your learning into practice.

With Tuihono UC, you’re not just watching recordings of live lectures, or having to log on in the middle of work to attend tutorials. Our courses and programmes are specifically designed for people to get ahead online, at their pace, through interactive online study.

You’ll get to grips with new skills through online videos, animations and interviews with subject matter experts - academic experts and industry leaders. You'll then put your learning into practice through interactive activities, forums and assignments designed by our team of online learning designers. 

Our ambition is to enable lifelong learning, so you have flexible and accessible development opportunities at every stage of your learning life. We're developing our learning pathways, so you can start small with a micro-credential and grow your journey through a certificate before taking on a postgraduate diploma or master’s degree.
