HOW TO APPLY

Congratulations on taking the next step towards further study! Applications to enrol into our Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing (Registered Nurse Prescriber) are now open for our 17 February 2025 start-date. If you're interested in studying later in 2025 or 2026, please sign up for enrolment updates.

When you apply to enrol into a programme with Tuihono UC | UC Online you're applying to Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha | University of Canterbury. This means you'll be part of the University of Canterbury student body, and are eligible for a wide range of support and digital services.

 

How many courses do I choose?

The courses and codes you can select from are listed below. Note that all courses added to your enrolment must be paid before the courses start.

Course selection is based on advice received from our academic team, so please choose courses based on their specific advice when sending your offer of place. 

The courses you can select from are:

  • HLTH661 Advanced Pathophysiology (17 February - 15 June 2025)
  • HLTH663 Advanced Pharmacology (17 February - 15 June 2025)
  • HLTH662 Advanced Health Assessment (7 July 2024 – 11 January 2026)
  • HLTH664 RN Prescribing Practicum (7 July 2024 – 11 January 2026)

 

The course codes to search for during the application process are HLTH661, HLTH663, HLTH 662 and HLTH664. The correct course(s) to select will then be shown in the course selector as follows: 

  • HLTH661-25X1 (O)
  • HLTH663-25X1 (O)
  • HLTH662-25X3 (O)
  • HLTH664-25X3 (O)

Get your documentation ready

Before you start your application to enrol in the Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing (Registered Nurse Prescriber) you'll need to prepare these documents:

  • Verified evidence of your identity, such as a certified copy of your birth certificate, or a certified copy of the photo page in your passport. There are additional requirements depending on your visa status, or if you have legally changed your name - for more information view full verification requirements.
  • Proof of your academic qualifications, such as a transcript or your UC student ID number if you studied your undergraduate degree with us. If you graduated with a bachelor's degree from another university, you will need to request a digital copy of your transcript through them..
  • A current Registered Nurse practicing certificate from Te Kaunihere Tapuhi o Aotearoa | Nursing Council of New Zealand.

Please note: Some courses will have in-person requirements but some will be online only – in-person requirements will be confirmed with enrolled learners. 

 

Submit your StudyLink application ASAP
