In 2025 more learners than ever before chose to reach their goals online with us. As the year winds down, we’re taking a moment to reflect on the achievements of our ākonga | learners and kaimahi | staff.
This year, we had almost seven thousand enrolments made by over five thousand learners.
From short courses to full degrees, thousands of learners chose flexible learning with us to reach their goals. Online learning helped them balance professional development alongside work, whānau and community commitments.
Tuihono UC | UC Online was developed to reach new learners who can't come on-campus, or prefer to learn online.
We're proud to see that vision coming to life, with 40% of our learners connecting with UC for the first time, and 32% being the first in their family to study at university.
While people typically associate university learners with young adults straight out of high school, UC Online is specifically designed for lifelong learning — showcased by our average learner being 37!
Curious about our most popular learning options? So were we!
In 2025, our most popular programmes included the Master of Health Sciences (Nursing), Certificate in Criminal Justice, and Master of Organisational Psychology.
In the short course space, people loved upskilling quickly with the Better Start Literacy Approach, Professional Project Management, and AI Essentials for Educators.
This year saw learners finish their studies across a range of online programmes, from leadership to counselling.
We can't wait to support these learners crossing the stage at UC's next graduation in April 2026!
As we head into 2026, we’re excited to welcome new students through fresh online learning options.
If you’re thinking about starting your own learning journey, you can enrol now to start learning in February!
