Course outline


Endorsed by PMI, this course is delivered online, using half-day learning sessions every Friday from 3 October - 5 December. You'll learn online from 8.30am - 1pm every Friday, except for 17 October, and 14 November. 

Your training sessions will be delivered live online by an Authorised Training Partner (ATP) with the Project Management Institute (PMI).

During the course, you'll learn key concepts and explore exam-taking tips, templates and revision exercises developed by PMI.  You'll also gain access to over 400 official PMI cloned PMP® credential examination questions, the PMI student learning portal and practice exams.

Following the course, you'll be fully prepared to take the PMP® credential exam! Our ATP will even guide you on booking the exam, and will be in touch to check on your results. 


Requirements


To ensure that our learners have the necessary background and experience to succeed, you must have either: 

  1. A four-year Degree (bachelor’s or global equivalent), 36 months of project management experience (within the past 8 years), and 35 contact hours of project management education or training (or CAPM certification); OR 
  2. A high school diploma or associate degree (or global equivalent), 60 months of project management experience (within the past 8 years), and 35 contact hours of project management education or training (or CAPM certification).

What counts as project management experience? 

  • Experience must be non-overlapping (only one project counts at a time) 
  • You must have led or directed project tasks 
  • The experience must cover the five process groups (Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring & Controlling, Closing) – but you don't need experience in every process group for every project 
  • Part-time and volunteer work can count if it meets the criteria

We recommend a laptop or desktop computer and a reliable internet connection.

Course fees
Course fees must be paid before learning can begin, either via online credit-card payment, or by contacting us to request an invoice. Please note: fixed invoice payment dates apply, so we recommend getting in touch with us as soon as possible to request an invoice, as this option is subject to availability. 

Exam fee
Please note: there’s an additional cost for the PMP Exam fee, which is paid directly to PMI. This exam fee is $405.00 including GST if you are a PMI member, or $555.00 including GST if you are not a member.

Withdrawals and refunds
If you withdraw 15 or more days before the course start-date, a full refund will be provided, minus any booking fees (if booked via Humanitix). If you withdraw 8 – 14 days before the course start-date you will receive 50% of the course fee fee, minus any booking fees (if booked via Humanitix). If you withdraw 7 days or less before the course start-date, no refund is payable. 

Cap & minimum enrolment threshold
A minimum number of learners is needed for effective interaction and feedback, while a maximum cap of learners ensures high quality learning and support. If the minimum number of enrolments required for a course isn’t met, or the maximum cap is exceeded, learners will be given the option to defer their study or receive a refund.

Sean Whitaker

Sean Whitaker is unique in the profession of project management in that he has successfully delivered complex projects in the construction, urban redevelopment, telecommunications, software, IS/IT, business change, and organisational transformation industries. He brings this wealth of project management experience to his project management training and can pass on complex ideas to people in ways that can be understood and applied immediately.

Sean has developed, designed, and delivered project management training for adult learners including introductory level, post-graduate tertiary level, and PMP examination preparation. He is a regular conference speaker and is also the author of several books on project management best practice and how to pass the Project Management Professional (PMP) examination.

As a project management consultant, he has had a global career working with some of the world’s leading IT, mining, energy production, space exploration, construction, telecommunications, transport, research, education, mining, and primary production organisations to improve their level of project management proficiency and competency. His consulting approach is based on pragmatic jargon free advice that is appropriate for the client and their immediate needs.
